I love the way this is filmed, not to mention Marina's amazing styling this album!

Can they both stop being so cute together already?!

Talk that talk

I know you have probably been spammed with this video on every outlet possible, but I can't resist throwing this up here. I will probably get sick of it when it's been played a million times on every music channel going but I think this is Rihanna's best video to date. It also has a lot of unintentional similarities with the Doc Martins video I blogged about last week, which I also loved. It even has Aggy doing the voiceover!

I feel like we get to see the fun side of Rihanna (e.g. as seen in her always epic fan meet and greet photos), in addition to her pretty decent acting chops in the more 'serious' moments. Go Ri! Can't wait to see what the rest of the 'Talk That Talk' era holds.

I Follow Rivers

Every song that gets released from Lykke Li's upcoming 'Wounded Rhymes' album makes me even more excited to hear the full thing!
It will be released in Lykke Li's native Sweden on March 2nd. Are you guys excited to hear her new material?

Ta Ching Ta Ching

I'm probably majorly slow on this, but I just heard about Jessie J. I've read things about her before and never really looked up her work, but she has an awesome voice and stage persona. Have any of you seen her live or listened to her? What do you reckon?
I can see big things for this girl!

The most deleted music scrobbles of 2009

Last fm have compiled a list of the most deleted music scrobbles of 2009 a.k.a the guilty pleasures of anyone with an internet connection. Kinda speaks for itself....the only difference with me is that I would openly listen to any of these. Minus Ke$ha who is completely like a cheap version/knockoff of Uffie?!

Just the two of us, Alone together, Hating everyone

I just got Jemina's new album 'Break It Up', it's pretty similar to BYOP, but since I kind of love them I'm pretty okay with that. Because Stereogum is being weird and not letting me post the video, you can go here to watch the new video for Jemina Pearl (Feat. Iggy Pop & Thurston Moore) - "I Hate People" .

I'm wondering why there is a really cheap version of Lady Gaga and what I'm presuming is a Katy Perry knockoff by the shades in the video? Well, why not, I guess haha.

Otherwise, enjoy this instead...

And of course some classics...

To the sky

Sky Ferreira: She's cool. She's like 15. She looks like a cross between Corey Kennedy and Georgia Jagger. Oh yeah, and she has a pretty amazing voice.

You can continue to hate her now.

Jimmy Eat World riding flying cats!

Jimmy Eat World-Beautiful Day-Yo Gabba Gabba

Yo Gabba Gabba, possibly one of the best programmes EVER by the way, always features bands in amusing situations. The fact that the kids watching the show will most likely have NO idea who the bands are cements the point in my arguement that there is some serious tongue in cheek action afoot. But what else would you expect from a programme created by the people behind The Aquabats...
Also the host really reminds me of Dev Hynes of Test icicles/Lightspeed Champ pre haircut when he used to wear that mahussive furry hat everywhere...

I love this video mostly because Jimmy Eat World , despite being an established and sucessfull band, are not too pretentious and up themself to don flying dog and cat. 10 cool points.

In short- pure quality!

p.s. I really need to download the song, too cute!

Clowning around

So last night I ended up at a random night sponsored by the best in camp drinking, sequin absolut vodka!
However, the best part was not the fact that there was free amusing feather masks, free cocktails OR free diamante' badges ( free!) but the fact that they had the most amazingly dressed djs ever!
Apart from spending a while trying to decide whether their immaculately matching hairdos were wigs or not, I also noticed how great their music was! They fill a place in my heart which The Chalets (R.I.P ) used to occupy.
Dance routines and matching outfits? err yeah!
Unfortunatley I have not yet joined the igeneration and so I can't download their first song 'black cat' from itunes, so i'll just have to spend my time streaming over the olde myspace instead...

here!
