'To be a model and to be put in to a situation where it's not me anymore and I'm asked to transform, that feels very natural for me because I like to pretend to be somebody else. I like to escape every now and then.'

Blondie

Abbey Lee Kershaw has gone blonde. Wayyyyy blonde. Is there a haircut/style this girl cannot handle?!
I love that she takes risks and regularly changes her hair rather than sticking with the one style she got successful with. I'm looking forward to seeing how the designers are going to style this up and of course the obligatory pictures of her amazing street style between shows...

The Royal Abbey Lee

The A/W 2010 campaign was shot in New York recently by Karl himself. But what struck me about it all wasn't the fact that they chose to shoot the yeti pieces in downtown New York, or the fact that Karl's mode of transport during the shoot was a giant green crane (machinery, not the bird you understand...), but the fact that the collection somehow translated into a Margot Tenenbaum vibe...
Though I must admit, Abbey's hair looks amazing! Is there a haircut this girl can't handle?! Saying that, the double C hairslide undoubtedly helps the cause...

BFF

I love that Abbey and Freja are always pictured hanging out, in the same way I always liked seeing pictures of Lily/Gemma back in the day...

Owl City

So Abbey Lee has an owl tattood on her middle finger, so she can flip people 'the bird'...? HA.

Shut up and drive

I think I need to stop blasting Abbey Lee videos in everyones face, but I love this 10x more than the actual editorial in Pop magazine!

The berry on top

I don't think words can actually contain how amazing the Burberry Spring/Summer 2010 presentation was. Pure goosebumps moments. It was above and beyond any show I have seen in my life. When the confetti exploded from the ceiling and the lights filled the room it truley felt like something amazing had just happened.

Abbey Road

Yes everyone loves this Australian Vogue September 09 spread. And with good reason. But Abbey Lee Kershaw is no one hit wonder. And she's totally reinforcing my love for the nose ring.

Summer's here

I picked up the Pre Fall (July 09) edition of Vogue Italia the other day. I don't normally buy it, but I was drawn by the Tim Walker shoot, for which I will buy most magazines and books (apart from this for which I would have to save up for the rest of my life...sob).

The Tim Walker shoot was as amazing as expected (view the fox hunter themed spread here) but I was drawn to the 'NEO-romantic' photography spread by Emma Summerton, featuring Imogen Morris Clarke & Abbey-Lee Kershaw.

Not only is the styling phenomenal but the colours are so vivid and lucid. I am in love with the jeweled catsuit and the skeleton hand (I think it may be the same one as featured in Nick Knight's 'Black and White editorial...?), not to mention the Rodarte and Balenciaga dresses. And don't even get me started on those rings!! It just made me want to put paint to paper! Here is my version of my favourite image from the spread (view larger here) and the full photographs. Which is your favourite?
