My work on sale in Urban Outfitters

I don't really talk about it too much on here, but with fashion imaging being a strong passion of mine I do a lot of fashion illustration along with films and art direction. I recently was given the opportunity for some of my illustration and art direction work to be displayed and sold in Urban Outfitters.
These pictures were taken at the Covent Garden location. I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity and the UO team have been very lovely throughout the whole process.

Camille Rose Garcia illustrates Alice in Wonderland

Such an obvious and amazing collaboration- it should have happened years ago! I've been a big Camille fan for years now and I can't wait to add this to my bookshelf!

Summer's here

I picked up the Pre Fall (July 09) edition of Vogue Italia the other day. I don't normally buy it, but I was drawn by the Tim Walker shoot, for which I will buy most magazines and books (apart from this for which I would have to save up for the rest of my life...sob).

The Tim Walker shoot was as amazing as expected (view the fox hunter themed spread here) but I was drawn to the 'NEO-romantic' photography spread by Emma Summerton, featuring Imogen Morris Clarke & Abbey-Lee Kershaw.

Not only is the styling phenomenal but the colours are so vivid and lucid. I am in love with the jeweled catsuit and the skeleton hand (I think it may be the same one as featured in Nick Knight's 'Black and White editorial...?), not to mention the Rodarte and Balenciaga dresses. And don't even get me started on those rings!! It just made me want to put paint to paper! Here is my version of my favourite image from the spread (view larger here) and the full photographs. Which is your favourite?

Enjoying an afternoon with my sketchbook. It's for a new project which is only in it's early stages, but now is the best time as it could go anywhere!
This page is centred around 'modern burlesque' and society's perception of juxtaposition, for which Raquel Reed is perfect!

Do you keep a sketchbook? If so, for fun or for work?

Drawn to you

I found the below image featuring THE amazing dress Wang dress as seen on everyone and everything with a pulse, but with no artist name. Luckily through blog trawling and investigating I finally came across the full artwork of Hanna Müller.

Beautiful, no?

Kelly Smith is an Australian illustrator. I'm always into the contrasting styles of paint and pencil illustration. Smith does this in a really interesting way. I love this piece of Gemma Ward!
