If they ever make Valley Girls/Lily it should definately be styled like this...

First year of University is over! It's gone so fast! I'm celebrating by travelling to see my boyfriend till the end of the week. However due to a screw up with the post (looong story) over the weekend i'm getting the coach instead of the train...not so fun.

What's love got to do with it?

I really want to see this! It looks so sweet! What's cool about the film is that it is only semi-scripted (after all Michael Cera is the king of improv), and Michael Cera and Charleyne are actually going out in real life.
A real film about a fake documentary about real relationships that are actually fake composed by a real couple playing a fake couple.

The mind boggles!

Today we made cakes. I ate far too many.

In other food related news, Chanel Big Mac anyone?

Guess I'll follow this with the
Chanel cupcakes whilst wielding the Chanel chainsaw...? Maybe not. But I might enjoy it with a side of Karl Lagerfeld's twitter page. I'm really not into the whole twitter thing, but with Karl throwing up quotes like:
'Guilty feelings about clothes are totally unnecessary. A lot of people earn their living by making clothes, so you should never feel bad.'
you kind of HAVE to love it.

What is black and white, white and black, black and white?

I wanted to post this video sooo long ago, but I couldn't figure out how to embed the video from Show Studio.
I'm actually addicted to watching it. The editing is phenomenal. I know that's a strange thing to comment on, but you know what I mean when you see it.
It almost surpasses the actual editorial in my eyes. Kind of makes you wish magazines could really move.

Film by, of course, Nick Knight. Model Anja Rubick in 'Black and White' editoiral for Vogue UK.

Cover Girl

She's quietly taking the modelling world by storm. 19 year old Ali has experienced all sides of the industry, from walking high profile shows to scandal through being labelled 'too fat' and a controversial Wallpaper cover. With her signature strong brow and talent, Ali Michael has the makings of a top model.

'Looks like you just hooked yourself a Bass'

My one complaint for the season 2 finale of Gossip Girl was that there was a severe shortage of Dorota action. Besides that, it definitely delivered!

I could gush. BUT instead I'll allow the scene to do the talking...

Blair: Why aren’t you in Europe?
Chuck: I was, and Paris. Only to get your favourite macaroons from Pierre Herme.
Blair: And Germany?
Chuck: … To pick up your favourite Faux Stockings, you know how I adore them.
Blair: What are you doing here then?
Chuck: You were right, I was a coward running away again. Everywhere I went, you caught up with me. So I had to come back.
Blair: I want to believe you, but I can’t. You’ve hurt me too many times.
Chuck: You can believe me this time.
Blair: Oh, is that it?
Chuck: I love you too.
Blair: But, can you say it twice?
… No, i’m serious, say it twice.
Chuck: I love you.
I love you, 3.
I love you, 4.
I love you, 5.
I love you …

!!!

All my pathetic tweeny dreams have come true!
You have to admit, it was a long time coming as such SO worth it. Now what do I do with my Tuesday nights...

In other GG related news, Leighton has teamed up with Cobra Starship in what I find to be the strangest collab evver for the single 'Good girl gone bad'. This follows the track that leaked a couple of months ago 'Birthday' with Awesome New Republic. I'm liking her efforts far more than Taylor Momsen's (Courtney Love with a side of Ashlee Simpson anyone?). The less said about that the better...

I'll leave you with this amazing Chuck Bass memory, and the hope that Valley Girls will still be going ahead...

A few months back he started acting keen, now he's reading i-D magazine

Loved this spread by Vanina Sorrenti in the latest issue of i-D. Allegedly i-D is going bi-monthly, so you'll be seeing a lot less of the signature winking model covers gracing the magazine racks in times to come. The issues are said to be published in September, October, November, February, March and April.

I see London, I see France...

I'm the sort of person who loves a good tote bag. Yes, I own a range of teeney and cute bags to match every outfit, but when it comes down to those final minutes as I rush out of the house I'm always inclined to grab a massive bag where I can shove everything in without stuffing it to the brim so it takes on a pillow-like shape. Tote bags also are great for trucking around London when you need to dip into your bag for your travelcard to go through the tube station without *gasp* stopping to search your bag and as a result getting knocked out/dirty looks from businessmen and old people with attitude.

So naturally, when I saw these Maptote bags over at discothequeconfusion I was sold.

This coupled with the fact that they also have that cheesy tourist souvenir graphic on the side is making me love them that little bit more. But here's my dilemma...oh the choices!

You can pick the place where you live (for me this would be London...or at least I will be central London in a couple of weeks)...which could be cheesey but at least they beat those horrible Louis Vuitton/Steven Sprouse knockoff tourist bags...

You could go the authentic souvenir route and pick somewhere you've been...

Or maybe even somewhere you want to go...it's the closest I'm likely to get to Tokyo in a while...though I didn't realise Tokyo had an Eiffel tower???

'I love you too. Two.'

The new TV advert for Matthew Williamson's H&M line. I laughed too much at the James Bond esque ending line, maybe he's a big fan...?

This got me thinking, and reminded me of how good some past H&M ads have been. Take for instance the Stella McCartney for H&M advert, which vaguely reminds me of theErin Fetherston film I posted the other day. Kinda creepy, but also kinda amazing.

And how could I ignore Viktor and Rolf's wedding??

And this one doesn't involve a designer collaboration, but it's pretty amazing!

Bullet theory

More jewellery love, this time in the shape of Unearthen Bullet Shell Necklaces. I saw them a while back in Crash magazine, and they've realy grown on me. Unfortunately, as usual they are waaay out of my price range, but that doesn't mean someone won't eventually and *hopefully* make an equivelant.

Film Noir

I have just discovered Noir jewellery, and I've fallen hard. Well, when i say just discovered I of course mean that I've seen many of their pieces circulating, adorned by the fashion elite and as a result been passing out with lust and asking 'who makes this?!?'
Here are just a few of the creations that I wish I owned, until their full site launches and I can browse till my little heart's content...

Fancy dress

Unless you've been under a rock you know that the 2009 MET Costume Institute Gala just went down. So in an ode to a post which you are very likely to have seen on numerous other blogs I give you: my favourite outfits from the 'fashion event of the season'. Unfortunately I am a 'visual person' which means get ready for the onslaught of images!

Naturally as the theme was 'models as muse' the models were on top in terms of outfits. Lily looked amazing in Narciso Rodriguez.

I love this white number by Roland Mouret worn on Catherine McNeil.

Chanel Iman rocked a leopard print Zac Posen. Love the pink nails!

Miranda Kerr took a risky move in this Jil Sander, and managed to pull it off.

Rachel Bilson. The dark hair with the green Bally works a treat. Simple, understated and effective. And look at the hair!

Cute couple points go to Karen Elson and Jack White in Chanel.

Hilary Rhoda in Thakoon.

Coco Rocha following a smiliar colour palette in in Isaac Mizrahi.

I think I am just amused by this photo because they look like they're having a right good night out...and Twiggy is amazing.

Yes, the dress does slightly resemble a sweet wrapper...but guys, that's totally okay! Anne Hathaway in Marc Jacobs.

I'm sorry, but a little bit of John was required...I couldn't resist!! With Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior.

LOVED this Stella McCartney on Kate Bosworth. SO the whole lace and red lipstick has been done before, but it looks really good on her and evokes a little glamour. And I'm not going to lie, I'm swayed a little by THE hair.

There's something about this shade of peach in these Vera Wang ensembles that really draws me. It's not that 'girly' pink, and is made even less girly here by the black lipstick on Rachel Weisz. Seperately the dresses look a bit odd, but together they remind me of peachy mermaids.

Oh. My. Stam. Rodarte. Oh. My.

Diane Kruger in Chanel. It's fun whilst still keeping it classy.

Not someone who's outfit I expected to like, but I really like the weird textures of this Brian Reyes on Ivanka Trump .

Double whammy in this photo! Bar Refaeli is every bit the futuristic seashell in Marchesa, and I also spy another Rodarte going on in the background...

And finally Heidi obviously stole the show, wearing J.Mendel.

Who did you like? Who were your favourites? I wasn't particularly impressed by my usuals such as MK, and the less said about the Gossip Girl ladies, the better...
